  • How long is the lifeguard certification valid for?
Lifeguard certifications are valid for two years from the date of issue. In order to renew your certification, you must take a recertification course within those two years. The waterpark and waterfront courses include the same written exam and CPR/AED certification, but the skills test is replaced with a water rescue simulation. After successfully completing any of these courses, your lifeguard certification will be valid for another two years. You have a 45-day grace period between your certification lapsing and being able to take a recertification course. Once the 45-day grace period has lapsed, you will be required to take the full lifeguard certification course again.

  • What is CPR in the workplace?

When performed correctly, CPR can help to restart the heart and breathing and improve the victim's chances of survival. However, CPR is only effective if it is performed immediately after the victim has collapsed. For this reason, it is important for workplaces to have a clear plan in place for how to respond to medical emergencies. Employees should be trained in how to perform CPR and should know where the nearest defibrillator is located.
